About Senate District 41 PDF Print E-mail

Senate District 41 (SD41) is comprised of Edina and West Bloomington. SD41 is the last first ring suburb with any Republican elected officials. We are proud and have worked hard to elect Senator Geoff Michel and Representative Keith Downey (41A).  With the continued work of our volunteers we plan on maintaining our Republican influence at the State.

SD41 annually participates in the Edina Fourth of July Parade with a large contingent. Following the parade, there is a lunch for all our volunteers, with veterans as our honored guests.

SD41 holds Full Committee Dinner Meetings eight times a year open to Republicans and their guests.  Recent speakers have included U.S. Congressman Erik Paulsen, Past State Party Chair and CEO of TCF Bill Cooper, Past State Senator Roy Terwilliger, health care expert Twila Brase, and a Gubernatorial Forum featuring all the candidates running for governor in 2010.

Full Committee Meetings are held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6817 Antrim Road in Edina with social time at 6:00 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm, a meeting at 7:00 pm, and the speaker at 7:30 pm.

SD41 has a monthly newsletter "The Voice" which is sent to over 2000 Republicans including all delegates, alternates and contributors. It can also be accessed on‑line through our website www.sd4lgop.com.

SD41 is the only Senate District with an office, shared with the 3rd Congressional District Republicans located in the Edina Community Center. Our Executive Committee and sub‑committee meetings plus numerous other activities are held in the office.
